With September marking the official start of Spring, we’re certainly happy to wave goodbye to Winter and its cooler months. There’s so much to love about Spring; sunnier climes, longer days, warmer evenings – and – of course – the promise of summer around the corner. With the start of the new season, one thing’s for sure, our winter wardrobe will soon be long forgotten, and our chunky knits and trusty Uggs will be packed away to make space for our summer staples. And we all know that that means more flesh on show. With that in mind, we’ve put together some trusty tanning tips, so that when it comes to baring skin in the Spring sunshine, you’ll have a gorgeous golden glow to show off.
Hydrate: One of the best ways to prep your skin for some sunless tanning is to ensure you’re properly hydrated. We all know the health benefits of drinking the recommended 2 litres a day for your – but did you know that drinking insufficient amounts of water can impact your skin, leaving it dry, tight and flaky? So if you want to give yourself the best base for a beautiful bronze tan, be sure to do as the doctor ordered and up your h2o consumption.
Exfoliate: Just as important as hydrating your skin prior to self-tanning, is exfoliating. Dry skin attracts and holds more colour than skin which is soft and smooth. To avoid uneven patches of tan in dry areas, be sure to use a loofah or body scrub to prep your skin before applying St.Tropez self tan.
Moisturise: The final step before applying your sunless tan is to moisturise. Concentrate on areas that are often dry, such as elbows and knees, to ensure your skin is ripe and ready for a beautifully bronze colour. We recommend using our Tan Enhancing Body Moisturiser!
